Nondestructive Testing (NDT)

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

MT is an effective method for detecting surface and near-surface discontinuities in a wide variety of manufactured materials and components, including castings, forgings, and weldments.

Penetrant Testing (PT)

PT is one of the more sensitive NDT testing methods for detecting surface flaws and is effective on small objects, large areas, and unique shapes. PT can reveal surface discontinuities at a low cost while providing these advantages:

  • Relatively simple to use without the requirement of a special viewing apparatus
  • Ideal for examining large areas
  • Highly sensitive to small surface discontinuities
  • Effective on a wide range of materials such as ferrous and nonferrous metals and alloys


Radiographic Testing (RT)
RT can reveal corrosion, voids, and cracks while providing accurate, reliable inspection results. RT can be used on a wide range of materials with varying thickness, including these advantages:
  • Minimal surface preparation
  • Inspection of assembled components
  • Permanent inspection reporting
  • Detection of both surface and subsurface defects
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
UT services can include a range from manual thickness readings to large scale automated corrosion mapping to phased array flaw detection. All executed ultrasonic inspection services are in compliance with industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, and AWS, and include these benefits:

Acoustic Emission Testing (AE)
Detection and analysis of AE signals can supply valuable information regarding the origin and importance of a discontinuity in a material. AE listens for the energy released by a defect and are often performed on components while in operation, as this provides adequate loading for propagating defects and triggering acoustic emissions. Because of the versatility of Acoustic Emission Testing (AE), it has many industrial applications:
